An Operation, A Suicide And An Invite: Report from Ground Zero

 thabadcat,

Thanks for your comment. Yes, you are right. But I was trying to see the others point of view. Nothing can justify their heinous crime but perhaps, understanding the reasons might help in communicating with them and who knows we might have a solution.

Non Governmental White Paper on Anti Christian Violence in Orissa, India Christmas Week 2007

Can John Dayal answer a few simple questions? Are the missionaries capable of serving the poor without the expectation (covert or overt) of conversion? If they are so inspired and distressed by human misery what stops them from helping the Hindu or Muslim poors? Are they capable of service minus  religion?

Well, Would Mr John Dayal answar a question?

Are Christian Missionaries capable of working for the upliftment of the poor without the objective (overt or covert ) of conversion? If so, they should do so. It will solve the problem of communal clashes. I am from Orissa and have spent several years in those areas to know that the motive of aid is conversion. Being liberal, the christian missionaries should concentrate only on aid and education. They do not not have any problem in helping Hindus. Or do they?

Canine Chronicles from Chennai

Swarajya,
These are standard abbreviations in general use , anyway it's a pleasure to clarify. PFA is ', People for Animals' which is a powerful pro-animal rights lobby like the Peta. PYT is short for pretty young things. I'm sure u know what those are, the two legged type.

Life is Beautiful: A response to Yash Chhabra's contest

Hi bj,
Beautiful, heart-rending and poignant tale. It is so good that I wish I had written it. Anyway, blessed to have atleast read it.
Yes, life is beautiful but more beautiful than that are the tales spun around it.

Sonnet: Noise Pollution

Doc Celes,

Very true. In fact there is so much loud noise outside all the time that one can no longer hear the inner voice of the self. Relevant post.

A Married Conversation

Good one!
Though they seem more like an 'old' married couple than a recently married one.
And you're right women do become more intelligent after a few months of marriage.
That's probably because  the men totally stop growing intellectually and women have to work double time.
Just joking. I hope the married men at Sulekha don't release a fatwa after reading this.

The Guilt Trip (Trap?)

I feel that some clarification is necessary at this level. I believe each action has an equal and opposite reaction. So what is the reaction to unconditional goodness? It is subconscious guilt. It is not the guilt as we normally understand and react to i.e. through social conditioning. But far deeper and is self generated. This is how gandhigiri succeeds, by making one defenceless against goodness. And guilt is  nothing but a reaction against this defencelessness.
